Trek China – The Great Wall

Join us on this iconic trek as we venture over the The Great Wall of China – one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world!

Built over 2,000 years ago, the Great Wall of China is a cultural and historical feat of human achievement, linking remote rural villages in the mountains of Korea, 4,500 miles west to the Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia. This trek is one of the world’s classics, offering panoramic vistas, challenging walking and a fascinating insight into an ancient culture. This nine-day adventure, includes 5 days trekking, starting and finishing in the capital city of Beijing.

In October 2011 we plan to take one team on this prestigious challenge which is all-inclusive and includes flights, meals, accommodation, experienced group leaders and a UK medic, all trekking permits and a celebratory traditional dinner in Beijing at the end of the challenge.

• 5 days of trekking along the Great Wall from the famous picture postcard section of Badaling to Simitai – the wild side of the wall
• Climb the famous 1000 steps at Mutinayu, before taking a toboggan down to the bottom!
• Hotel and traditional lodging accommodation
• A city tour of Beijing included – visit the modern Olympic park, and ancient Forbidden City
• Sign up for the challenge and pay a deposit of just £349 before the 30th September 2010.
• Undertake a commitment to raise an additional £2200 to be paid 10 weeks before your departure date in 2011
• Out of the £2200 that you raise 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices will pay the balance of your place on the event (£1100) and retain the remaining fundraising
