How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day? How often do you sit with a group of friends having a cheeky cappuccino or latte coffee, while catching up on all the office gossip? Is it time that you got a few friends round and caught up?

1 Million Zimbabwean Voices Coffee for a Community Campaign is all about encouraging you to take a little bit of time out for you and some friends to get together and spend time catching up, enjoying each other’s company, getting a bit of hot gossip, and enjoying a cup of coffee or two.

So here is the idea. Using our pledge system, we have set out three potential challenges to our members, supporters and friends. Each of these challenges is designed to get you thinking about Zimbabwe and its people each time you have a drink of coffee. Yes, that means that each time you go to the kitchen to make a cup, your conscience is going to be saying to you, “what have you done to help Zimbabwe today!”

So if you’re thinking of helping by accepting one of our challenges, then we are grateful for your support as all of our work is undertaken through funds raised by our members, and your support enables us to do so much more.

Challenge One

If you’re lucky enough to have a lot of spare time on your hands then we challenge you to set aside a few hours one morning of the week to host a coffee morning. It might be with friends at home, or with colleagues from work in a high street coffee shop. Where ever it may be, get a group of five or more friends together and set a cup aside as your pledge cup. Each member of your party places what they can into the cup, and you bank this and deposit it with 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices via our agreed deposit method.

Challenge Two

If you work in a department of colleagues in a large firm and are not privileged with the time on your hands to organise a coffee morning, download a poster from the links below and speak to your colleagues at work about the challenges facing Zimbabwe and its people, and the work that we are undertaking on behalf of the Zimbabwean Community. Explain to them that you’d like to support our work, and see how many you can convince to agree that each time your department do a coffee run, to pop whatever change each of you can afford into a collection jar. Run this campaign over a month and see how much money you can raise. Your donation will be greatly appreciated when its deposited with 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices.

Challenge Three

If your pretty much isolated through time and work, and find yourself facing the daunting prospect that you don’t get much time to communicate and socialise during your working hours, we sympathise with you, but encourage you to still feel part of the community here at 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices. You can still take part in our fundraising activities, by each time you purchase a cup of coffee, placing the change in a jar. Collect what you can over a period of a month and let us know what you’ve raised and deposit your donation when you get a chance.

In each challenge, we’d ask that inform 1 Million Zimbabwean Voices know that you are fundraising on our behalf, as we support our pledge teams along the way with encouragement and ideas to keep fundraising fun, fresh and productive. It’s as important to us that you get a feeling of achievement and acknowledgement for your efforts, as the money your raising, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Every donation receives a certificate of appreciation and is listed on your annual donations acknowledgement form, so everyone gets thanked and your donation is accounted for in every way. We hope that this idea stimulates you to get involved and help us help you to raise the funding that’ll help us to change the lives of Zimbabwean’s around the globe.
